Mex 1 Coastal Cantina invites Lowcountry margarita lovers to celebrate National Margarita Weekend at all Mex 1 locations Thursday, February 22nd through Saturday, February 24th. National Margarita day is officially Thursday, November 22nd but Mex 1 Coastal Cantina is celebrating all weekend long with ½ price pitchers of Mex 1 and Infused Margaritas.
The house made Mex 1 Margaritas are made using 100% Agave Tequila and fresh juices. They are also doing specials around their customer favorite infused margaritas like the pineapple margarita, jalapeno margarita and pineapple habanero margarita. These infused margs use 100% Agave Tequila and fresh fruit to create a flavorful marg. Mex 1 will be offering ½ price pitchers of their house Mex 1 margarita and their infused margaritas all weekend long.

Love is in the air, and Mex 1 is turning up the charm this Galentine’s Week with an exciting promotion at all three Mex 1 locations. From February 5th to February 18th, Mex 1 invites patrons to participate in our Taylor Swift ticket promotion where we are giving away TWO tickets to see Taylor Swift this fall. Details on the giveaway below. As part of the festivities, Mex 1 will be hosting a Galentine’s Night on February 16th, featuring 1/2 price Mex 1 Margarita pitchers, a new specialty cocktail “Midnights Margarita,” inspired by the blonde pop icon herself, and entries count double for the ticket giveaway.

Galentine’s Night Promotion
As a special highlight of this Galentine’s celebration, Mex 1 is thrilled to announce the “Galentine’s Taylor Swift giveaway” at all three locations. Participants will have the chance to win two tickets to see Taylor Swift live at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Friday, October 25th. Giveaway is for tickets ONLY, travel and lodging will be at winners expense.
To enter the “Galentine’s T Swift” giveaway, patrons simply need to visit any of the three Mex 1 locations during the promotion period, February 5th – 18th, and they will be eligible to enter the drawing. You can only enter one persons name and email per day! Please do not enter yourself more than once per day. There will be entry forms provided by the restaurant staff for participants to fill out their information and drop into the box. Giveaway entries will count DOUBLE during our Galentine’s event on February 16th. Participants can enter only once per day per location. You cannot enter more than once per day as we are checking that. The winner will be announced Monday, February 19th via Mex 1’s social media channels and contacted via email.

Mex 1 Coastal Cantina in conjunction with Carolina Studios is excited to bring you our next installment of #Mex1Sessions with Motown Throwdown on Sunday, January 21st starting at 7pm! Motown Throwdown is a powerhouse soul band steeped in the traditions of funk, soul, pop, rock, R&B, and jazz. This outfit of local heavyweights has established itself as a leader in the Charleston music scene, beginning with their long time residency at the Charleston Pour House. The 5-piece consists of siren Aisha Kenyetta, sax-man and vocalist Mike Quinn, guitar wizard Dave Grimm, Stuart White on drums and the inimitable Corey Stephens on bass. As the name implies, the music starts within the Motown soul tradition, but manifests itself in a plethora of unique styles and arrangements from across the musical spectrum. Expect an enormously energetic performance with ripping solos, soulful vocals, and catchy, synchronized melodies on top of a thick, relentless funk driven core. Also, expect to dance and be wildly entertained.

Meet us at Mex 1 Sullivans Island a little before 6pm to help our community in a beach sweep. This is the Tuesday after Labor Day weekend so a beach sweep is much needed. Come join us Tuesday, September 7th at 6pm and we will head out from Mex 1 and head to the beach. All volunteers who come out and lend a helping hand will receive one free beer! Everything will be provided to you from gloves, trash pickers and trash bags. Just come in comfy clothes and bring sunscreen! Mex 1 Sullivans Island will be throwing down Labor Day weekend with a launch party for Los Sunday’s Tequila on Sunday, September 5th. A portion of the summer sweat series will benefit Warrior Surf Foundation, a non-profit whose mission is to improve the lives of Veterans through Adaptive Surf Therapy. The summer sweat series dates and class styles will be:

With a voice that recalls a timeless blend of Ray Charles, Van Morrison, and Jeff Buckley, William Blackburn joins such artists as Frank Ocean in crafting modern soul songs that are alternately lush and intimately earthy. The singer songwriter was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina.
Captivated by vocalists such as Ray Charles, William went on to become the front man and lead singer of national touring act Stop Light Observations. Growing up on black gospel and soul, he has taken his profoundly expressive voice and moved fans with stand-out performances at festivals such as Bonnaroo and Firefly. William is setting out to record and release his first ever solo project this Winter

Caleb McCraw brings to the stage his southern sensibilities and unique prospective. That’s been carved through years of Myrtle Beach vacations and flea market shopping sprees.
Dan sweeney was born on earth from two parents. He is the host of the Lowcountry’s worst podcast “The San Dweeney Show.” His greatness in comedy has been described as being on par with 2020s greatness as a year.

Based out of Charleston, SC – Junco Partner delves into the realm of funky rock jams. The band features a seasoned group of players with Joe Keenan, vocals Matt Hastings, bass and Kevin Wadley and TJ Dildy on guitars, Jack Friel, drums and Alan Brisedine on keys. Spirited vocals and braided harmonic guitars backed by lively bass and hot drums are served up just right. Whether performing original music or covers, Junco Partner draws from each member’s musical experiences to create the JP sound.

This outfit of local heavyweights has established itself as a leader in the Charleston music scene, beginning with their long time residency at the Charleston Pour House. The 5-piece consists of siren Aisha Kenyetta, sax-man and vocalist Mike Quinn, guitar wizard Dave Grimm, Stuart White on drums and the inimitable Corey Stephens on bass. As the name implies, the music starts within the Motown soul tradition, but manifests itself in a plethora of unique styles and arrangements from across the musical spectrum.
